Professional tooth-whitening also provides the benefit of consultation with the dentist in the event that the patient experiences undue tooth sensitivity. If so, the dentist can provide a tooth whitener of lower concentration or a desensitizing gel for use immediately preceding or after the use of the tooth whitener.
