It seems that researchers have found that people with the most germs in their mouths are the most likely to experience heart attacks. While Tannerella forsynthesis and Prevotella intermedia were found to be the most common bacteria in the mouths of heart attack victims, the most common indicator of heart attack risk was the total amount of bacteria in heart patients’ mouths. With this in mind, researchers are underscoring the importance of tooth-brushing and regular dental exams in minimizing heart attack risk.
