Laser Dentistry
Not only is laser dentistry usually better for your teeth, it also makes your visit to the dentist more comfortable.
If you thought that the use of lasers was limited primarily to plastic surgeons and dermatologists, you should know that dentists use lasers for a variety of procedures. Perhaps the most popular use of this technology involves professional tooth whitening, which lasers perform more quickly and more effectively than other methods. Using lasers, dentists can whiten teeth a shade or more than otherwise possible. Lasers can also be used to diagnose cavities more precisely and effectively, affording earlier intervention. When cavities are found, lasers may be used to remove decay without the vibration and noise of a drill. And, lasers may also be used for soft-tissue procedures, such as gum revision, eliminating the need for sutures.
Did you know? Micro-air abrasion involves “sand-blasting” decay with tiny aluminum oxide particles, averting the need for drilling?
